Dar es Salaam, March 12 -- CHINA: China will take “all necessary measures” to safeguard its rights and interests, the Chinese foreign ministry says after the US tariffs on aluminium and steel came into effect.
The USs actions have violated World Trade Organization rules, Chinese foreign ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning adds in a news conference.
Trump earlier doubled a blanket tariff on goods from China to 20%. This prompted Beijing to target US agriculture imports with new tariffs of 10% to 15% on chicken, beef, pork, wheat, and soybeans.
