Dar es Salaam, March 14 -- DODOMA: The Government Chief Chemist, Dr Fedelice Mafumiko, has announced that the number of samples analyzed by the Chief Chemists Laboratory has increased from 155,817 in the 2021/2022 financial year to 188,362 in 2023/2024, reflecting a 21 percent rise.

Speaking to reporters in Dodoma today, Dr. Mafumiko attributed this increase to strong collaboration with government institutions such as the Drug Control and Enforcement Authority (DCEA), the Police Force, the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA), and the National Environment Management Council (NEMC). Additionally, he noted that growing public awareness of the importance of scientific investigations has contributed to the rise.
