Sri Lanka, Sept. 3 -- The Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka (HRCSL) has issued 16 key recommendations aimed at strengthening the ongoing investigation into the Chemmani mass grave site in Jaffna, where over 200 human remains have been discovered.

Following a fact-finding mission in August, the Commission highlighted serious gaps in expertise, technology, funding, and resources, and raised concerns over reports of witness and journalist intimidation. It stressed the need for transparency, independence, and accountability in the probe.
