TANGA, Sept. 6 -- CHAMA cha Ukombozi wa Umma (CHAUMMA) presidential candidate, Salum Mwalimu, has vowed to restore the historical significance of Tanga and Morogoro regions by turning them into key industrial and economic hubs that will create jobs and drive national development.
Addressing supporters at Mabanda ya Papa grounds in Tanga on Thursday, Mr Mwalimu said that his administration would ensure petrol and diesel are sold at less than 1,500/- per litre.
He described the pledge as realistic, citing domestic oil exploration and production as a means to boost supply and reduce reliance on imports.
