Dar es Salaam, Feb. 21 -- DAR ES SALAAM: CHAMA Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) ViceChairman (Mainland), Stephen Wasira has said that safeguarding the countrys peace remains the partys top priority.

He also reassured Tanzanians and the international community that the upcoming General Election, scheduled for later this year, will be free and fair.

Mr Wasira made the remarks yesterday during the talks with the acting US Ambassador to Tanzania, Mr Andrew Lentz, who visited him at his office at the CCM Sub-office along Lumumba Street in Dar es Salaam.
