Dar es Salaam, March 10 -- MARA: THE Parliamentary Standing Committee on Budget has hailed Barricks North Mara Mine for its commitment to responsible mining, highlighting its role in sustainable development and local community support through compliance with key regulations.

Committee Vice-Chairman, Mr Josephat Kandege, praised Barrick for its adherence to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Local Content Regulations, urging other companies to follow its example.

“In terms of CSR and local content, this mine excels in its collaboration with the community, resulting in positive outcomes for those living around it,” he stated.
