KAGERA, Nov. 28 -- THE Police force, in collaboration with the Immigration Department, has arrested 76 foreigners for entering the country without following the required immigration procedures.
Kagera Regional Police Commander, Senior Assistant Commissioner of Police (SACP) Blasius Chatanda, said the arrests stem from intensified border surveillance mounted after unrest reported during the October 29 General Election.
“The Police Force, together with the Immigration Department, continues to conduct strict surveillance along border areas. In the process, about 76 foreigners including 73 Burundians and three Rwandese were rounded up between Monday and Tuesday this week for entering the country illegally.
