DAR ES SALAAM, June 7 -- THE Secretary General of the National Muslim Council of Tanzania (BAKWATA), Alhaj Nuru Mruma, has called on Muslims and all Tanzanians to protect and uphold national peace, stressing that without peace, societal development and the freedom to worship cannot be achieved.

Speaking at the national Eid al-Adha prayers held at the King Mohammed VI Mosque in Kinondoni, Dar es Salaam, Alhaj Mruma stated:

“The National Muslim Council of Tanzania (BAKWATA) urges every Tanzanian, in their respective capacity, to safeguard and maintain the peace of our nation, because without peace, there will be no development in society, and even the opportunity to worship will not exist.”
