DAR ES SALAAM, June 18 -- BAKHRESA Group, founded just half a century ago, has risen from humble beginnings to become a manufacturing giant in Eastern and Central Africa, with annual revenues of 1.0 billion US dollars.
The companys journey began in 1975 on Livingstone Street in Kariakoo, Dar es Salaam, when founder Mr Salim Said Bakhresa (pictured) purchased a restaurant and named it ‘Azam—laying the foundation for what would become the Bakhresa Group empire— wheat flour, sugar, bottled water to soft drinks. Bakhresa Groups Head of Public Relations, Mr Hussein Sufian detailed the manufacturer iconic journey yesterday when unveiling its 50 years golden jubilees logo in Dar es Salaam, reflecting years of success.
