ARUSHA, Jan. 2 -- THE Arusha Regional Commissioner, Amos Makalla, has inspected the progress of the construction of a stadium being built for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), stating that the project has reached more than 70 percent completion.

Makalla said the government does not owe the contractor implementing the project, explaining that out of the 340bn/-allocated for the stadiums construction, more than 200bn/- has already been paid. This has enabled the contractor to continue with the work without any pending payment claims for work completed so far.
