Dar es Salaam, April 28 -- DAR ES SALAAM: AIRTEL Tanzania has launched an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based spam alert service aimed at protecting customers from mobile fraud and scams, in a major move to strengthen the fight against fraudulent activities in the country.

Dubbed Airtel Spam Alert – Kataa Matapeli, the service automatically provides real-time alerts to both smartphone and feature phone users for suspected spam SMS messages, without the need for additional applications or activation steps.

Tanzania becomes the latest country to benefit from the technology after successful rollouts in Nigeria and Uganda.
