Dar es Salaam, April 30 -- ARUSHA: PRIME Minister Kassim Majaliwa said yesterday that the government is developing a specific policy for Artificial Intelligence (AI) with process currently underway, to provide guidance on its usage in the media.

He said the move aims to ensuring that the technology aligns with the principles of media freedom, transparency and journalistic integrity.

The Premier also urged journalists in the country to utilise AI as an effective tool in enhancing their work efficiently rather than as a hindrance to their Press freedom.

Mr Majaliwa unveiled the government plan during the observance of World Press Freedom Day, which is being nationally held in Arusha.
