DAR ES SALAAM, Aug. 27 -- THE ACT Wazalendo party has strongly condemned the decision by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to block its presidential candidate, Luhaga Mpina, from submitting his nomination forms.

The party claims the move is unconstitutional and raises serious concerns about the commissions independence and integrity.

In an official letter signed by ACT Wazalendos Secretary General, Ado Shaibu, dated August 27, 2025, the party expressed shock over NECs correspondence issued on the same day. The INEC letter was reportedly based on a communication from the Office of the Registrar of Political Parties, which announced the nullification of Mpinas candidacy.
