DODOMA, Sept. 11 -- ALLIANCE for Change and Transparency (ACT-Wazalendo) is set to challenge Dodomas political status quo, fielding 88 candidates for councillor seats in the October General Election.

The region has a total of 209 wards, each represented by democratically elected councillors. The party says it intends to challenge CCMs longstanding dominance in the region and offer voters a fresh alternative.

Speaking to reporters in Dodoma yesterday, ACT Wazalendos Dodoma Regional Chairman, Mussa Habagui, said the party is poised to bring meaningful changes to the region, which has traditionally offered little room for opposition parties.
