Tanzania, May 18 -- THE President's Office Regional Administration and Local Government (PORALG) has set aside 71bn/- in the 2025/26 financial year for emergency road repairs in areas hit hard by ongoing heavy rains, including parts of Tabora Urban where some roads have been completely cut off.
Deputy Minister for PORALG, Zainab Katimba shared the update in Parliament yesterday while responding to a supplementary question from Tabora Urban MP Emmanuel Mwakasaka (CCM), who raised concerns about damaged infrastructure in several townships.
She said the government is taking urgent action to restore access in affected areas, allowing residents to resume normal social and economic activities.
