DAR ES SALAAM, Oct. 24 -- THE East African Community (EAC) has officially launched an Election Observation Mission comprising 67 experts from all member states of the Community. The missions mandate is to monitor and assess Tanzanias General Election, scheduled to take place on October 29, 2025.

The mission will be led by Dr. Speciosa Kazibwe, who served as Vice President of Uganda from 1994 to 2003. Dr. Kazibwe is recognized as the first woman in Africa to hold the position of Vice President in an independent nation and is also a specialist surgeon.
