Tanzania, May 18 -- DEPUTY Minister for Energy, Judith Kapinga, has said the government is continuing to implement a strategic electrification project aimed at supplying power to key areas across the country, including small-scale mining sites, fishing zones, industries and other areas that drive economic activities.

She said this in the National Assembly while responding to a basic question from Mwibara MP Charles Kaijage, who wanted to know the government's plan to electrify fishing communities to boost their local economies.

"This strategic electrification project has already reached over 300 locations, including health centres and water wells in areas providing essential social services," she said.
