Sri Lanka, Feb. 9 -- The Colombo High Court today (9) ordered the money laundering case against Yoshitha Rajapaksa and his grandmother, Daisy Forrest, to be recalled on April 24, 2026. The postponement follows a delay in the submission of a critical psychiatric evaluation.
During the proceedings before High Court Judge Rashmi Singappuli, State Counsel Oswald Perera informed the court that the Judicial Medical Officer (JMO) has not yet submitted the expert report regarding the mental fitness of the second defendant, Daisy Forrest.
The defense has previously argued that the 98-year-old is suffering from advanced dementia and Alzheimer's disease, rendering her unable to comprehend the charges or participate in her own defense.
