Srilanka, March 31 -- The Sri Lanka's Embassy in Yangon is following up the situation relevant to the earthquake which struck Myanmar on Friday (28), causing damage and destruction in several places in the country, including Mandalay and Nay Pyi Taw, causing injury, loss of lives and damage to the property and infrastructure. Strong tremors of the magnitude 7.7 (on the Richter scale) earthquake, which the epicentre was at Mandalay region, was felt at the Embassy premises in Yangon, around 11.50 a.m..

As per the available information, there are no reported impacts on the Sri Lankan community, including the Embassy staff residing in Myanmar.
