Srilanka, June 5 -- The national ceremony to mark the World Environment Day will take place today under the patronage of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake at Nidahas Mawatha in Kegalle. The event will mark the conclusion of Environment Week, observed in conjunction with the global celebration of World Environment Day.
According to the Environment Ministry, a series of tree-planting programmes have been launched across the country to commemorate the occasion and promote environmental sustainability.
