SriLanka, Feb. 7 -- The Women Parliamentarians' Caucus has submitted a request to the Speaker seeking amendments to the Parliamentary Standing Orders to prevent verbal harassment and insulting remarks directed at women Members of Parliament within the chamber.

The request was handed over on Tuesday, January 5, urging the introduction of provisions to address conduct or statements made by MPs that result in verbal harassment targeting women parliamentarians.
