Sri Lanka, May 30 -- A 38-year-old self-employed Thai woman has been arrested at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in what authorities describe as one of the largest drug busts in the airport's history.
The suspect arrived in Sri Lanka on Qatar Airways flight QR662 early this morning (May 30). During a routine inspection by the Airport Customs Narcotics Control Division, officers discovered a suspiciously modified travel bag. Upon further examination, three compartments within the bag were found to contain concealed packages.
The packages held approximately 300 grams and 323 grams of suspected cocaine, totaling over 600 grams.
