Sri Lanka, Jan. 12 -- Former Minister Wimal Weerawansa, along with civil society representatives and supporters, has launched a continuous 'Satyagraha' sit-in in front of the Education Ministry.
The protest demands the withdrawal of recently introduced education reforms and calls for Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya to resign from her position as Education Minister.
Participants have pledged to maintain the sit-in until their demands are met, reflecting widespread opposition to the government's proposed changes in the education sector.
