Sri Lanka, Nov. 9 -- If required the World Health Organization's (WHO) expertise will be sought to take health precautions in the wake of increased air pollution experienced unexpectedly on Tuesday and Wednesday, Central Environmental Authority (CEA) Director General Hemantha Jayasinghe said.
Issuing a media communique, the DG however said that the air quality has improved as at yesterday and that the public need not to panic.
He said the CEA, with the aid of its air quality measuring equipment installed in Battaramulla and Kandy, is constantly monitoring the air pollution and would inform the public immediately if there is a change.
