Sri Lanka, Nov. 22 -- An 'Amber' advisory has been issued by the Natural Hazards Early Warning Centre, warning of heavy rainfall across several parts of the country.

According to the advisory, issued at 2.30 p.m. on 22 November 2025 and valid until 8.30 a.m. on 23 November, showers or thundershowers are expected in most areas of the island.

Heavy rainfall exceeding 100 mm is likely in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Southern Provinces, as well as in the Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts.

Authorities have urged the public to take necessary precautions to minimize potential damage from heavy rainfall, strong winds and lightning associated with thundershowers.
