Sri Lanka, Dec. 2 -- The Kandy Municipal Council has announced that water supply in Kandy city has been restored following disruptions caused by recent flooding.
Heavy rains and floods on the previous day had submerged water pumping stations and purification plants across the Kandy district, severely affecting the water supply to residents.
Deputy Minister Prasanna Unasedna stated that the temporary restoration of the Gatabe Waterworks, one of the facilities completely submerged during the floods, is now in its final stages, ensuring a steady supply of water to the city.
