Sri Lanka, Jan. 23 -- Veteran singer Anil Bharathi has passed away while receiving treatment at Panadura hospital yesterday. He was 75.

Bharathi who has composed and sung a wide range of songs has exhibited musical talents by successfully performing in different fields in the musical world as a musician. Known as the tallest vocalist among the Moratuwite musicians, Bharathi established his imprint as a part and parcel of the Evergreens of the 1960s.

Bharati received education in three schools including Prince of Wales' College, Moratuwa and he led all musical shows and competitions organised by the school. He was a chorister at the Holy Emmanuel Church in Moratuwa. Despite being a Moratuwite, he settled down in Panadura.
