Sri Lanka, July 5 -- Veteran banker and former Sri Lanka Bank's Association and the Chartered Institute of Bankers Chairman Rienzie T. Wijetilleke (86), passed away yesterday. Wijetilleke, a former student of Ladies College and Wesley College, started his banking career as a trainee at the Bank of Ceylon Kollupitiya branch. He succeeded in ascending the top rung of the banking sector by becoming the chairman of the Hatton National Bank from 2004 to 2011 after serving various capacities in the bank.Sri Lankan tea
Wijetilleke contributed to the sports too by becoming the interim chairman of Sri Lanka Cricket and served as members of Board of Directors in many companies.
