Srilanka, Feb. 15 -- Public optimism about national economic conditions has increased alongside strong approval ratings for the government, according to the latest "Mood of the Nation" survey conducted by Verite Research.

The nationwide poll found that government approval stood at 65% in early February 2026, remaining statistically stable compared to the 62% recorded a year earlier. The survey carries a margin of error of 3 percentage points and was conducted in partnership with Vanguard Survey (Pvt) Ltd.

Disapproval ratings meanwhile remained low and largely unchanged from February last year.
