Sri Lanka, Feb. 11 -- The Gampaha High Court is set to deliver its verdict today (11)in the trial concerning the 2022 mob assault and murder of Polonnaruwa District MP Amarakeerthi Athukorala and his security guard.

The case involves 41 defendants accused of the killings that took place in Nittambuwa during the countrywide unrest on May 9, 2022.

The verdict, presided over by a three-judge bench consisting of Justices Sahan Mapa Bandara, Rashmi Singappuli, and Rasantha Godawela, was originally scheduled for January 14 but was subsequently postponed to today.
