Srilanka, May 23 -- An emergency inspection of public and private transport vehicles departing from Nuwara Eliya was conducted under the leadership of Nuwara Eliya District Chief Motor Vehicle Inspector, Mr. Jaliya Bandara, in coordination with the Traffic Division of the Nuwara Eliya Police.
The operation targeted SLTB buses, private buses, and other vehicles, focusing on their suitability for passenger transport. As a result, 10 SLTB buses, 8 private buses, and 4 lorries were found to be unfit for service and were temporarily removed from operation.
Owners have been given 30 days to rectify the identified deficiencies and resubmit the vehicles for inspection. Failure to comply will result in legal action before the Nuwara Eliya Magis...
