Sri Lanka, Dec. 11 -- Sources at the Dambulla Dedicated Economic Center report that the prices of several vegetables, which had surged in recent days, are now declining.
However, the price of beans remains high, with one kilogram still selling for over Rs. 1,000. Carrots have dropped to Rs. 200 per kilogram, while beetroot, radish, nokol, cucumber, eggplant, and tomatoes are being sold at around Rs. 250 per kilogram.
Farmers in the disaster-affected areas, however, continue to face serious challenges. Although floodwaters have receded, many paddy fields are now covered with sand, posing a significant threat to agricultural productivity.
