In an effort to restore normalcy to the lives impacted by the 'Ditwah' cyclone, the Government allocated Rs 25,000 to each family yesterday for the clean up of their damaged homes.

According to Finance Ministry Secretary Dr. Harshana Suriyapperuma, this allocation aims to assist affected families in repairing their homes and quickly resuming their daily activities. Dr. Suriyapperuma added that the Finance Ministry has set aside Rs.7.5 billion for this purpose, and the Government maintains a disaster fund of Rs.30 billion to provide prompt assistance in the event of disasters.
