Sri Lanka, Jan. 5 -- Authorities estimate that full renovation of the damage facilities at the Peradeniya University due to Cyclone Ditwah will cost at least Rs. 6-7 billion.
Over 100 acres of land in the University premises was flooded for the first time during the disaster period.
Meanwhile, six Faculties of the University of Peradeniya, which were hit by the floods and had to be shut down, have now commenced.
Two more Faculties of Science and Arts will also commence today, Vice-Chancellor Professor Terence Madhujith said.
So far, the Faculties of Allied Health Sciences, Medicine, Engineering, Agriculture, Veterinary Medicine and Dentistry have commenced.
