Sri Lanka, Dec. 22 -- National Building Research Organisation (NBRO) Kandy District Chief Geologist Samantha Bogahapitiya stated that an instability has been observed in the slopes along Rajapihilla Mawatha, located above Mahamaya Girls' College in Kandy, and that further studies are required on the matter.
He noted that the situation is not a landslide risk but rather a condition caused by the improper management of rainwater and the failure to stabilise soil embankments according to technical standards.
