Sri Lanka, Sept. 18 -- The United National Party (UNP) Working Committee has decided to lift all party bans and disciplinary actions imposed on members who joined the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB).

The committee, which met yesterday evening, has appointed a special committee headed by former Attorney General and President's Counsel Tilak Marapana to look into the legal implications of the decision. UNP Chairman Vajira Abeywardena said that this move removes the obstacles that prevented UNP and SJB members from working together at the Working Committee.

The meeting was held at the UNP headquarters in Pita Kotte, "Sirikotha," under the leadership of former President and party leader Ranil Wickremesinghe.
