Sri Lanka, July 20 -- An air ambulance service with surgical equipment will be set up to save lives in remote areas in addition to the already existing 1990 Suwasariya ambulance service, UNP leader and former Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe said. He said this will be set up considering the easy and quick access possibility by helicopter to rural and the remote areas in case of an emergency such as natural disasters and road accidents.

Wickremesinghe stated this at the UNP area meeting for Harispattuwa held in Pujapitiya on Friday (17).
