Sri Lanka, Dec. 2 -- At the request of the National Water Supply & Drainage Board (NWSDB), UNICEF has delivered nearly 25,000 kilograms of chlorine to aid water purification in Sri Lanka. This initial assistance is helping rural communities regain access to safe drinking water. In coordination with the government, UNICEF is also expanding access to clean water and working to prevent the outbreak of waterborne diseases in the hardest-hit areas.
