Sri Lanka, Nov. 27 -- A total of 365,951 in the country are currently unemployed and according to the 2024 Labour Force Report, the unemployment rate in the first quarter of 2024 which was 4.5 has decreased to 3.8 in 2025, Prime Minister and Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya said in Parliament. She made this statement in response to a question that was raised by Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa under Standing Order 27/2 in Parliament yesterday (26).
