Sri Lanka, Dec. 9 -- The UN Resident Coordinator in Sri Lanka pledged full support to Sri Lanka's Foreign Minister to assist in rebuilding the country after the devastation caused by Cyclone 'Ditwah'.
UN Resident Coordinator in Sri Lanka, Marc-Andre Franche met Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism Minister Vijitha Herath at the Ministry yesterday.
He pledged that the UN will provide support to the relief and reconstruction efforts in Sri Lanka. He also announced that the UN has decided to provide US $4.5 million from its Emergency Relief Fund to support the immediate relief efforts in Sri Lanka and he symbolically presented the amount to Minister Herath.
