Srilanka, March 27 -- The Government yesterday stressed that travel sanctions on former military top brass will complicate the ongoing national reconciliation process in the country.
Issuing a statement in response to the UK's decision to impose sanctions on four Sri Lankans including three former military commanders over the alleged human rights violations,
the Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism Ministry in a statement yesterday said the imposition of sanctions on these Sri Lankans is a unilateral action by the Government which involves an asset freeze and travel ban on the individuals concerned.
