The visit is expected to reaffirm the long-standing UK-Sri Lanka partnership, while Lammy is also scheduled to observe the United Kingdom's humanitarian assistance efforts following the impact of Cyclone Ditwah in the country.

During his stay, Lammy is due to hold high-level discussions with President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, the Prime Minister, and the Foreign Minister, focusing on expanding cooperation in key areas and further enhancing diplomatic and development ties between the two nations.
