Srilanka, April 2 -- A report released by the National Audit Office has revealed that 11.23 hectares of land formerly occupied by residents of urban settlements have not yet been officially transferred to the Urban Development Authority (UDA), despite those residents being relocated to housing complexes.

Under the Urban Renaissance Project, low-income families previously residing in 18 settlements were provided with new housing complexes. However, land associated with six of these lands totaling 11.23 hectares, has not been formally handed over to the UDA as required.

As of the end of 2021, 22 housing complexes had been constructed under the project.
