Srilanka, March 27 -- In an effort to curb the spread of Typhoid, the Health Ministry's Epidemiology Unit has initiated a special vaccination programme targeting 50,000 individuals engaged in food preparation, production and sales across Sri Lanka.
The campaign is being conducted ahead of the Sinhala and Tamil New Year to ensure public safety during the festive season. The programme is based on recent epidemiological data, which highlights the high prevalence of Typhoid transmission within the food industry.
