Srilanka, March 27 -- The Epidemiology Division, under the Ministry of Health and Mass Media, has launched a special program to administer the "Typhoid" vaccine to 50,000 workers in the cooking, manufacturing, and marketing sectors across Sri Lanka ahead of the Sinhala-Hindu New Year.
This initiative is based on a priority list developed from recent data on the spread of Typhoid disease, particularly in these high-risk sectors.
Statistics indicate that the highest incidence of Typhoid in recent years has occurred among workers involved in food-related jobs.
