Sri Lanka, June 28 -- Two National Peoples Power (NPP) councillors of the Weligama Pradeshiya Sabha who were abducted and went missing yesterday (27) morning were found yesterday evening on the Unawatuna beach in Galle.

The Police Media Division said that neither of the two councillors, a male and a female, had been injured at the time they were found. Police also said that the two councillors have gone to the Kananke Police Station.

The abducted individuals representing the NPP were councillors Ajith Priyantha and Kamani Mala Alwis.

The Weligama Pradeshiya Sabha election was held yesterday to appoint the Chairman and the two were abducted while they were on the way for the meeting.
