Sri Lanka, June 23 -- A tragic accident claimed the lives of a car driver and a 15-year-old girl early this morning (23) in the Eravur police division.

The incident occurred at around 4:45 AM, when a car traveling from Wandaramulla to Kaluwankerni lost control, veered off the road, and crashed into a tree.

Both the driver and the teenage passenger sustained critical injuries and were rushed to the hospital, where they later succumbed to their injuries.

Authorities are conducting further investigations into the cause of the accident.
