Sri Lanka, July 15 -- A tragic accident occurred today (15) near the 17th post area of Mapakadawewa on the Mahiyangana-Badulla main road, when a motor vehicle veered off the road and overturned into the Mahaweli Viyana Canal.

According to police, two individuals traveling in the vehicle were killed in the incident. Investigations are underway to determine the cause of the accident.
