Sri Lanka, Dec. 30 -- The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has announced that two generators at the Lakvijaya Coal-fired Power Plant in Norochcholai are currently out of service.
According to the CEB, one generator was taken offline on November 3 for routine maintenance, while another was shut down on December 20 due to a technical fault.
Repair work is underway, and both generators are expected to be operational by the first week of January.
At present, only one generator at the Lakvijaya Power Plant is functioning, contributing 300 megawatts to the national grid.
Despite this, the CEB assured the public that there has been no disruption to daily electricity supply, as hydropower continues to meet demand.
