Sri Lanka, Nov. 25 -- Two individuals have been arrested for defrauding over Rs. 36 million from a private company by promising to supply Wi-Fi antennas.

Police said the suspects, aged 34 and 37 and residing in Mattakkuliya and Wattala, failed to deliver the products as promised, resulting in a loss of Rs. 36,989,684.

The duo were summoned to the Police Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) yesterday to record statements before being taken into custody.

They were remanded until December 5 after being produced before the Nugegoda Magistrate's Court.

The FCID is continuing its investigation into the incident.
